Rance M. Bryson
Rance completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University, ("TCU") in Fort Worth, Texas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in public relations/journalism. He attended TCU on athletic scholarship to play football for the TCU Horned Frogs. He also served as the captain of the lacrosse team and lettered in lacrosse two years. He is a former member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and served as its secretary and treasurer while active. After his undergraduate studies, Rance worked as an account representative exclusively selling 3M brand abrasives, adhesives and anti-static packaging to major accounts such as, Abbot Labs, Boeing Electronics and Mitsubishi. Thereafter, Rance purchased a Mail Boxes Etc., franchise in Dallas with a partner, successfully operated the business for two years and sold it at a considerable profit to attend law school. Rance graduated from Baylor University Law School in June of 1993 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Texas in September 1993. While attending Baylor, Rance participated extensively in Baylor's nationally recognized trial advocacy program. While attending law school, Rance was employed by Baylor University as the head coach of Baylor's lacrosse team. Rance began his practice with Lewis & Henry, P.C., a defense firm in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas concentrating on defense of automobile and homeowner's liability claims for State Farm Insurance Companies and other leading liability insurance carriers and defense of first party claims against property and casualty insurance carriers where fraud/arson was the basis for denial of the claim. Rance came back to Dallas to accept a job with State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company's in house defense firm, Paul B. Van Ness & Associates. His areas of concentration were defense of personal injury auto accident claims, particularly those involving wrongful death with multiple parties and minimum liability insurance limits. During his tenure with State Farm, Rance had over 25 jury trials to verdict in Dallas and Tarrant County. In 1998, Rance formed the Law Offices of Rance M. Bryson as a solo practitioner concentrating on family law, collections, insurance defense, DTPA/professional negligence, commercial litigation and DWI criminal defense. As a solo practitioner, Rance participated in several jury and bench trials to verdict in family law, DTPA, personal injury, DWI and commercial cases in Dallas, Collin, Tarrant and Denton Counties. While in solo practice, Rance was retained as the primary collection attorney for a local credit union and as local counsel for national retail furniture and electronic equipment rental company and continues to serve those clients with our firm. Rance is licensed to practice before all Texas state courts and is a member of the Texas and Dallas Bar Associations.
