Glennis E. Sims After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Glennis obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1972 and graduated cum laude from the Baylor School of Law in 1974. Glennis joined Bailey & Williams, L.L.P. immediately following graduation and became a partner with that firm in 1981. Glennis was a senior partner with that firm until November,1996, when he left to establish his own practice. Glennis joined Ekvall & Byrne, L.L.P. in February, 2000. Glennis has tried numerous cases, and has extensive experience in not only personal injury work, but also medical malpractice and toxic tort litigation. As a result, he is well versed in many fields of medicine. Glennis' involvement in asbestos toxic tort litigation involved intensive study of pulmonary medicine and diseases of the chest. His background in medical malpractice cases includes handling cases involving orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, emergency room medicine, internal medicine, family practice, obstetrics, pediatrics, gastroenterology, radiology and psychiatry. Representing orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons provided Glennis with the opportunity to become well acquainted with injuries of the spine and spinal cord. These types of cases involved treatment of spinal conditions ranging from a sprain injury of the back to the rare occurrence of diastematomyelia. His experience in emergency room litigation provided Glennis with knowledge of the appropriate standards of care for patients involved in car accidents and other serious trauma. Glennis is licensed to practice before all Texas state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Western and Eastern Federal District Courts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Dallas Association of Defense Counsel and the Texas and American Bar Associations.
