Ekvall & Byrne, LLP was formed in July, 1999 and is comprised of eight attorneys with three partners and five associates. The firm is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and listed in A.M. Best's Directories of Recommended Insurance Attorneys.

Since its inception, Ekvall & Byrne, LLP has been primarily engaged in the defense of civil litigation, with substantial emphasis on personal injury and insurance law. The firm has significant experience in the handling of the defense of liability claims involving auto/trucking, premises and construction accidents. The firm also handles coverage matters, as well as the defense of first party claims - including matters involving extra-contractual allegations and exemplary damages claims, arising out of property and insurance fraud issues, as well as UM/UIM claims.

Over the years, the firm has continued to evolve to more fully meet the needs of its growing client base, establishing a commercial litigation practice and a real estate litigation practice. The firm’s commercial litigation practice represents corporations, small business owners and individuals in resolving breach of contract issues, disputes over non-compete clauses, and employment disputes. Its real estate litigation practice includes loss mitigation, mortgage fraud, wrongful foreclosures, DTPA violations, and violations of the Truth in Lending Act, as well as landlord/tenant disputes, broker disputes, and title, boundary and easement disputes.

The attorneys at Ekvall & Byrne, LLP have substantial experience in the litigation field, with a significant focus on insurance law, commercial litigation, and real estate litigation. Unafraid of the courtroom, we are, however, able to recognize when a case is better suited for settlement pre-trial, and our experience enables us to evaluate a dispute early to determine how best to proceed.
