Rick Byrne and Erik E. Ekvall formed Ekvall & Byrne, L.L.P. in July, 1999. At present time, Ekvall & Byrne, L.L.P. has seven attorneys. In addition to Rick and Erik, Glennis Sims, Brian Truncale are partners and Nathan Majors, Rance Bryson, and Bob Wells are associates with the Firm. Ekvall & Byrne, L.L.P. is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in A.M. Best's Directories of Recommended Insurance Attorneys. The Firm is engaged primarily in the defense of civil litigation, with substantial emphasis on personal injury and insurance law. Although the cases typically handled by Ekvall & Byrne, L.L.P. involve the defense of liability claims involving auto/trucking, premises and construction accidents, the firm also handles coverage matters, as well as the defense of first party claims - including matters involving extra-contractual allegations and exemplary damages claims - arising out of property and insurance fraud issues and UM/UIM claims. Furthermore, the firm represents numerous clients in the area of commercial litigation. The Firm practices in all Texas state and federal courts.
